Hitch 2012 - Day Sixteen, Essaouira
I got up pretty late and ate the rest of that pizza for breakfast. Aiden was sleeping so I had a shower and went to buy ice cream. I went looking for a post office, and in a shop these guys (Eithan and Tom) recognised my hitch t-shirt. They had done hitch too so I chatted with them for a while, and they took me to the harbour where they showed me the island they were going to swim to. I got some pizza and bought them back to my hotel to give them my number. Aiden was a bit mad I'd been gone so long, so I gave him some pizza and then we went out to get some food for him. We got ice cream and then walked the whole way down the beach. Loads of people tired to sell us 'happy cakes' and there were people on the beach with camels and horses. Although I did want to ride them it seemed pretty expensive and Aiden didn't really want to. It was super windy and there were a lot of people kite surfing, and the walk back was horrible because the sand was getting in our eyes. The sand got in my camera too, so Aiden spent 20 minutes fixing it when we got back to the hotel. We went out for food, then wandered along the beach front of a bit. We got ice cream again - the woman had started to recognise us! - then I got some of my favourite 10d crisps and we headed back to the hotel. I was pretty tired, but for some reason it took a while to sleep.
